Hypnotherapy for Sports Performance

Hypnotherapy & the trance state can be very effectively utilised to overcome performance obstacles & help you achieve your sporting & life performance, visions & goals. Alongside the regular use of hypnotherapy, I’ll show you how to use self-hypnosis & visualisation to train the subconscious mind to perform as expected, on demand.

What Is Hypnotherapy?

Many people think hypnotherapy is like stage hypnosis. It is not. Hypnotherapists practice hypnotherapy and combine hypnosis + therapy for therapeutic advantage, whilst stage hypnotists are performers that combine hypnosis + illusion to create the impression of control for entertainment purposes.

What To Expect During The Discovery Call

We’ll use Zoom for this 50-minute consultation. You’ll tell me about your sporting visions, goals and obstacles & we’ll discuss what the various solutions may look like. I’ll explain how hypnotherapy works & I’ll dispel a few myths. You’ll see how it works.

Perfectionism & The Practise & Competition Mindsets

Whilst perfectionism can often be engaged usefully in practice sessions, perfectionists sometimes have difficulty disengaging the “practise mindset” from the “competition mindset”. Active perfectionism in competition unhelpfully dwells on mistakes and missed chances and gets in the way. Appreciating and accepting the differences becomes vital.

Hypnosis Encourages Flow State

The zone, or flow state, is a highly focused state where your singular goal exists, to the exclusion of all else. You will perform at your best when you are present, with your mind and body focused on the here and now. Hypnosis encourages the mind to go into autopilot and instinctively do what it knows how to do without having to think about it.

Training Your Brain To Get The Best Out Of Your Body

Hypnosis engages the pleasantly disassociated and relaxed trance state. This is a state of heightened and focused attention that helps you observe issues and get out of your own way to effortlessly sidestep performance anxiety, stress, low moods, self-doubt, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, competition perfectionism and other unhelpful states.

Hypnosis Can Help You Create Your Winning Mindset

Beliefs have a huge impact on how you perform. Your beliefs produce your emotions and they activate the production of motivational hormones like serotonin or dopamine, or stress hormones like adrenaline or cortisol which direct your actions. When your beliefs are positive, your actions are positive, and they can energise your behaviour into success.
